So, I am now 3 1/2 weeks out and everything is going great! My incisions are healing really nicely and I have not developed any open spots so far (fingers crossed!). I haven’t been experiencing any pain for a while, only a little bit of irritation when my bra rubs up against the incisions. Last night I slept braless for the first time and it felt soooo nice! My boobs also looked a lot less swollen this morning so I think that they enjoyed the chance to breathe.

At my post-op appointment last week, my PS cut off the remaining knots and It has made a huge difference in the appearance of my boobs. They look great!! I am soooo happy!

An Update, Finally

So I have been really really bad about updating lately. Everything has been going really well and there has been very little to report. I went to my pre-op appt on Tuesday and my PS said everything is healing really well. This morning I took the underwire out of a regular bra and wore that instead of a surgery bra ( Size 34 C!!!!). My scabs have been falling off, making my boobs look a lot less frankensteiny, lol. I will put new pictures up in the next day or so, I cant believe how different they look already!

So today I left my house for the first time since my BR. I took a shower, put in my contacts, and put on regular clothes, and let me tell you, I felt a LOT more like myself! This afternoon my mom took me to a movie and it felt good to be out of the house for a change.

As for my new girls, they are feeling pretty good. They still feel really swollen and I have some irritation on the incision lines but other than that I’m not feeling any pain. I have stopped taking the percoset and am now only taking Tylenol which helps take away any discomfort.

I added my first post-op pic yesterday. It’s listed in the photos section but before you take a look be forewarned that its not exactly “pretty” yet, lol.

So yesterday was pretty uneventful. I was exhausted all day and slept for almost all of it. The only somewhat interesting part was my shower. Per my doctors instructions I took a shower yesterday. I took of the ace wrap and gause that the PS had put me in post surgery and got into the shower. Unfortunately, for some reason, almost immediately everything went black and I almost passed out. I dropped down, and immediately my vision came back. I got out of the shower, got dressed, and went back to sleep. I woke up later feeling a lot better and took a look at my new boobies. I LOVE THEM! They are still very bruised and the suture lines are really prominent, but I can still tell that they are gonna turn out great!

So, everything has been going well so far. I am having a little bit of pain, but nothing too major. I took my percoset last night so that I would be able to sleep, and luckily I was able to stay asleep for most of the night.

According to my PS I am supposed to shower later this afternoon, so we’ll see how that goes.

So, I had my surgery this morning and so far everything has gone great!

I got there at around 6:30 am and they went over a few last minute details. Then the doctor marked me, which was a little weird, lol. After that they took me into the operating room, which was absolutely freezing but luckily the table was heating. The anestesiologist inserted my IV, but i was so exhausted that I actually fell asleep befor I get the medicine! They had to wake me up in order to have me count backwards to be put to sleep, lol.

The next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery. I didnt feel any pain but I was sooo thirsty. The nurses went over post-op instructions with my mom while I drank a Sprite and then we were free to leave.

I felt absolutely fine for the first few hours, just exhausted. a few hours ago I started feeling a little pain along the incision lines. Nothing too bad, only a 2 or 3 on the pain scale. I took a peroset which knocked me out for a couple hours. I am feeling a little pain still- maybe a 1 or 2- but I think I will wait a little for more percoset so I can sleep tonight.

So for now I am eating a few saltines, watching Boston Legal, and hoping the rest of my surgery is this easy!!

Pre-Op

So I just got back from my pre-op appointment. They took my height, weight, temp, blood pressure, and pulse and answered all of my remaining questions. Afterwards they took a few pre-op photos.

After my appointment my mom and I went to Wal-Mart to drop off my prescriptions and pick up everything I aam going to need post-op.

This evening my friend Kasey is going to come over to braid my hair so I wont have to deal with it for a day or so after surgery.

Surgery tomorrow morning! I have to arrive at 6:45 and they will take me back around 7:00. I should probably be back home by around noon, Wish me luck!

4 days until surgery!

OMG! Only 4 days left! At first it felt like my surgery day would never arrive, and now its less than a week away. This past week has been going really slowly though!

I am moving out of my apartment in Boston today. My mom and I are taking all my stuff up to Maine so that it will be all ready to go when I head back to school next month. We are flying back down to Atlanta on Sunday night.

Monday is going to be such a busy day. First I have my pre-op appointment at 8:00am. Then I need to go purchase all the things included on my shopping list and set up my recovery space in my bedroom. I’m not too worried about getting it all done though, since I doubt I will be able to sleep a wink on Monday night.

So this weekend I’m going out to Long Island to visit some of my friends. It’s going to be my current boobs last time not only at the beach but also going out. I am having very mixed emotions about it. On one hand I am very excited that the next time I go to the beach or go out I will be able to wear anything I want to and jump around without having to worry about knocking myself or anyone else out. On the other hand I am feeling slightly nostalgic, like I want them to enjoy it while they can.
